fatbellykat came to life as a quaint and casual modern Greek tavern in late 2004, in the little seaside town of Brunswick Heads, and has since become one of the most well-reputed eateries in the Byron Shire. Here, we encourage you to share in our rich and hospitable culture and our delicious old-meets-new Grecian cuisine made from locally sourced and Greek imported produce.

We like to use ingredients that are grown and raised in sustainable, respectful ways...taking into account what is available at its right season and what we can get nearby.

We are sensitive to Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegetarian diets, although we do use gluten, dairy and meat in our kitchen...
